Your Consortium is made up of a dynamic ‘family’ of organisations with a wide range of different core activities, community focus and specialist skills.

The number of members delivering on programmes changes over time and it would be impossible to outline all of our partners at any one time.
We aim to highlight a particular partner once a quarter and this time round we’ve picked The Selby Community Furniture Store.
Project – TEWV Innovation Fund
Funded by Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust and managed by Your Consortium, the aim of this programme is to stimulate innovative projects in York and Selby districts that support individuals experiencing issues related to mental health and learning disabilities. Projects should support recovery from health-related conditions, strengthen support networks and increase social and emotional well being.

The Community Furniture Store has been recycling furniture in York for over 25 years, since 1988. A second store was established in Selby in 2004. A third store to serve Scarborough and parts of Ryedale is now open in Scarborough.
The stores seek donations of furniture and white goods which are suitable for reuse and make them available at low cost to people who need furniture. Over the years, thousands of local households have been helped to furnish their homes.
Selby Community Furniture Store provides a six week workshop experience  – tailored to suit people with mental health challenges and other issues.  The placements are very ‘hands on’ with participants undertaking a range of work  – restoring, retail and workshop activities.
We recently visited the project and you can see our video here…
